iPhone 1.1.3 Firmware Sighted
Here are some photos of the recent iPhone 1.1.3 firmware sighting that GearLive came out with. Are they Fake? or Real?
The Apple Community from sites like Digg and Hackint0sh began to speculate regarding weather this photos are real or not. Lets remember that a lot of people are crossing their fingers too. The release of the new 1.1.3 firmware would be the first step for a software unlock for Out of the Box 1.1.2 iPhones.
They are new features that maybe the real thing or some kind of wishes by the guys that created the photoshop work. We have seen many of those, so lets take the news with caution.
1.1.3 Features:
- Send an SMS message to multiple people
- Google Maps application can now pinpoint your location using cell tower triangulation
- Google Maps can now display the Hybrid map view
- You can now drag and drop application icons on your home screen
- You can now add web bookmarks to your home screen
The photos seems legit, and all but we have to wonder and question, how did he got the new firmware? Maybe Apple is going to request that i get this pictures off

Guided iPhone Unlocking?
How much are you willing to spend to be guided on the unlocking process? There is so many information out there for free, but its disorganized and you need to go through multiple blog and forum posts.
Then, when you have all the information necessary you need to get all the unlocking tools that the community have provided. Its a Daunting task for Non Tech People, and they may have fear of bricking their iPhone.
I was wondering how much are you willing to spend for this kind of service?

Hot German Chick Smashing an iPhone
Germans, now have time to play with their iPhones, with contract or without, but some people like to play rude and this video is an example.
This is not a nice welcome to the iPhone on Deutsch soil.
I think they have “buzz” overload across the pond with everybody talking about the iPhone. Some iPhone naysayers may enjoy this video, and others too.. lets watch.

Vtap: Watch any Video on Your iPhone

You can watch, Videos not only from YouTube but from several Video providers of the web. You can watch videos from various parts like MySpace, Dailymotion, Associated Press ,Reuters and ESPN. The magic of this app is that it encodes any Flash video to a native Quick Time player format H.264.
I haven´t tested on my iPhone yet, but it seems that this web app should fill a large gap the iPhone left, by not supporting Flash, this is a good way to solve this problem. This app may be better than the native YouTube app on the iPhone.

Setup Gmail IMAP on your iPhone
Google recently added IMAP support to Gmail and this are good news for iPhone owners because IMAP allows changes made by the user to be reflected on the server, and not downloading and storing sent and received messages.
Gmail IMAP service may be an iPhone selling point for some users.
I am going to leave this video, that explains how to set up Gmail IMAP on your iPhone.
Enjoy!

Solution for 3G on iPhone?
Intel has announced it´s new Moorestown Mobile Internet Device (MID) Processor coming out in 2009. Intel claims that Moorestown will bring serious computing power. This Intel processor has advantages over Samsung´s ARM-based chipset that is used on the iPhone. Moorestown power consumption is at “ultra low” levels and this may help in the issue of 3G battery hogs.
Maybe this new Intel processor is path for including 3G on the iPhone. Apple seems interested in this new plataform. Now we can expect all the versions of OS X under Intel
We can see in this video an iPhone Clone, but widescreen. What do you think?

Wordpress Admin plugin for iPhone
If you have an iPhone and a WordPress blog then this is your lucky day, because Dan Cameron released the WordPress Admin Plugin for iPhone. Now when you login to you admin account through your iPhone you will see a minimalist interface suited for the iPhone. Now we can post on the go, but with some limitations, there’s no copy/paste right?
Here is the interface:

Horizontal typing may come handy. I write faster, because there is more room between keys, does that happen to you?
Just install the plugin in your WordPress self-hosted blog and give it a try!

iUnlock: Easier & Faster

iUnlock is finally finished by the iPhone Dev Team. Get ready to unlock your iPhone in about 3 to 5 minutes. There is a Version for Windows in a .pxl file and now this for Mac OS X Users. I may think that this new iUnlock.app is going to display a progress bar etc. You just need to do this steps:
Download iUnlock Reloaded
- upload all 3 files to your phone in some location you prefer
- ssh in
- run iUnlock_Reloaded (./iUnlock_reloaded)
- be happy if its done
Sam a member of the iPhone Dev Team says this:
The push the button iCandy gui version is not yet released casue of troubles with the new toolchain. Will be out in a few, once toolchain is fixed up.
This is a faster method and you will be able to get flashing the firmware in 5 minutes or less a great improvement from those 20 minutes of pain with the first realease
If you have windows then use this file:
And install it with iBrickr
If you need more details se here.

Well finally I have my iPhone ready to unlock. I was lucky; thanks to AT&T I couldn’t buy it before the price drop and then I found the last iPhone on the Apple Store at La Cantera in San Antonio. I am going to record on video when unlocking my iPhone to share with you.
I decided to wait a little bit and not buy iPhone SIM Free unlock and I think that good things come to those who wait. A Freeware unlock is coming soon according to this thread in Hackint0sh Forum and here.
Lets see what happens in a couple of hours. Maybe you could get your unlock free of charge.

iPhone SIM Free Now Accepting Orders
But there is a problem, they state this:
“Iphonesimfree.com is a wholesale only company. Although we could, we do not and will not sell directly to end users, because we want to work together with our valuable resellers as a team and not interfere in their business.”
That means, that you would need to send your iPhone to a reseller or buy the iPhone from the reseller who bought the bulk license to unlock the iPhone. I am not sure how are they going to sell the individual license for the end user. Can the reseller sell individual licenses? Lets wait for a couple of days to see how events align.
The delivery date is on Tuesday, 4th of September. The minimum number of licenses you can order is 50 pieces at $36/ each , thats $1800 USD the minimum investment if you want to be a reseller. I show you the break down of how many licenses you can order and the price:
- 50 licenses: $36/each
- 100 licenses: $34/each
- 250 licenses: $32/each
- 500 licenses: $30/each
- 1000 licenses: $28/each
- 2500 licenses: $27/each
- 5000 licenses: $25/each
iPhonesimfree.com sorted out a good way to protect themselves by selling the licenses to a reseller. The reseller is going to be responsible for selling “Unlocked iPhones” etc. iPhonesimfree.com is only providing the solution, and the resellers make the dirty part.
I will show you the e-mail they sent me:
iPhone unlocking - WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING ORDERS
Orders iPhoneSimFree.com <orders@iphonesimfree.com>
Thank you for contacting us. We are now ready to take orders. Iphonesimfree is the only pure software solution available for iphone unlocking.

http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/24/iphone-unlocked-atandt-loses-iphone-exclusivity-august-24-2007/
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The reseller or his/her customer must install on the iphone our software, available by mail or through direct download from our site. This is a standard .app file and once installed on the iphone it will show up as a springboard icon on the main screen.
The reseller must log into our back office and enter the required data specific to that iphone (his license credit will be substracted).
Once done, the reseller or the customer must run the .app, which will communicate via the iphone wifi to our server. If the iphone has been registered, the software will proceed to unlock the iphone.
It is that easy! In the unlikely case of any problem happening, we have a 24/7 hotline to assist our resellers.
WHAT IS THE PRICING STRUCTURE?
The minimum number of licenses you can order is 50 pieces. Minimum quantity and pricing are not negotiable.
50 licenses: $36/each
100 licenses: $34/each
250 licenses: $32/each
500 licenses: $30/each
1000 licenses: $28/each
2500 licenses: $27/each
5000 licenses: $25/eachIMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: WHAT GUARANTEES DO WE HAVE AGAINST FUTURE UPDATES?
We CANNOT guarantee that this software will work after any future updates for the iphone. It does currently work on all firmware versions, up to and including, 1.02
We will naturally try to provide our resellers an updated version of our software for each firmware update, it is in our interest, but we do NOT guarantee that we will be able to do so.WE ARE A TEAM:

$50G Unlocked iPhone Auction

Do you remember this video?
Well that guy is selling a 4GB Unlocked iPhone on Ebay. GeoHot the author of this hardware unlock is selling this iPhone to buy a car and iPhones for the contributors of the Unlocking. They are cheaper methods for unlocking your iPhone that’s sure but as Geohot says it’s only for having the second unlocked iPhone. Just to have a piece of mobile device history
I think that many bids on the auctions were fraudulent and inflated the price a little bit.

Finally…First Full-Software iPhone unlock

This took more than expected, but today the iPhone goes international. Yes you can now unlock your iPhone and use it with the carrier of your preference (in any country).
Engadget informed that a team of six people worked to get this software ready for the masses.
This is a Full-Software Unlock that is going to be commercial, to payoff all the effort invested in this little software. This software is upgrade and restore resistant, that means that even if you restore/upgrade your iPhone to a new firmware the unlock is still functional. It has been tested with the 1.0.2 firmware.
The team of iPhone SIM Free.com did this naughty thing. They are officially the first to break Apple´s SIM locks on the iPhone with software. Lets see what is the effect on iPhone sales with this little software release. Go and buy some Apple stocks
This is not a Hoax and Engadget has a video to prove it.
